Thea Elvsted (nee Rysing). Mrs. Elvsted was formerly a romantic acquaintance of Jorgen Tesman. She currently resides just outside of town, where she is married to Sheriff Elvsted. She is stepmother to several of the Sheriff's children, though she has none of her own.
During her childhood, Thea knew, but was not friends with, Hedda Gabler. Apparently the two did not entirely get along with one another.
When we meet Thea, she has stopped by the Tesman's home to speak with Jorgen and Hedda.
