The Women of Lockerbie by Deborah Bevoort

Directed and Introduced by Ann K Lindsey

The Women of Lockerbie

"The Women of Lockerbie" is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. *pending approval

This play is inspired by true events that happened seven years after the December 1988 crash of Pan Am Flight 103, when a terrorist bomb caused wreckage and bodies to rain down on a small Scottish town, killing 11 townspeople and all aboard. We meet the women of Lockerbie, poised to convert an act of hatred into an act of love, but who are thwarted by a US diplomat. We meet Madeline, a mourning American mother, roaming the hills, hoping to find peace following the death of her son Adam, who was on the fated flight. Join us for this exploration of astonishing acts of kindness in the face of unimaginable grief.

Please Note: masking in all indoor settings, with the exception of instructional spaces, will be voluntary effective Monday, October 3, 2022.

This change to the Institute's campus masking requirements, as first outlined in a September 1 community message, aligns with local public health directives and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It also responds to improving trends in COVID-19 case activity on campus and in the local community.

Please note that while the Institute will no longer require masking in all indoor settings or at large outdoor events, all members of the Caltech community who wish to continue to wear a mask are encouraged to do so. Please see the Caltech Together website for more information.
