Memorandum

Set in a late 1960s soviet style bureaucracy,  the play follows Managing Director Josef Gross, as he attempts to translate an incomprehensible memo written in Ptydepe, a new language introduced by the authorities to streamline communication. In his efforts to decipher the memo, we enter into an absurdist nightmare that is a cross between Steve Carell in the Office couched in the Doublespeak of George Orwell.

The show is directed by Brian Brophy, and the cast is comprised of Caltech undergraduate, graduate students, and Caltech staff.

Final performances in Dabney Lounge are this Friday, November 18 at 8:30 pm, Saturday, November 19 at 8:00 pm, and Sunday, November 20 at 2:30 pm.  UIDs will be accepted for ticket payments as well as on-site refreshments.  Prices at the door are $5 for Caltech Students, $9 for Caltech/JPL Staff/Non-Caltech Students.
