1870s New Orleans. Mardi Gras.
Three women:
the first to be married to a rich Spanish noble,
the second destined to live out her life in confinement,
the third the most famous courtesan in the South.
A Colonel, his Lieutenant, a sailor, and a carpetbagger in town
looking for love, danger, and romance.
Add to the mix Tejano Spanish aristocracy, servants, revelers, thieves.
Live Cajun Creole music! A cast of forty! A clash of honor & morals!
What happens when these women push beyond social boundaries in search of fulfillment in this postbellum romance-adventure?
Directed by TACIT director Brian Brophy, the resituated play was originally penned by Aphra Behn, England's first professional female writer! For more information contact Mr. Brophy at brophy@caltech.edu or 626-395-3696.
