Mary B. Kennedy

 

 

Allen and Lenabelle Davis Professor of Biology

Dr. Kennedy has been on the faculty at Caltech since 1981. She received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1975 from The Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine. She was a postdoctoral fellow in Ed Kravitz's lab at Harvard Medical School from 1975 to 1978, and in Paul Greengard's lab at Yale University from 1978 to 1980. She was recently elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and was a councilor of the Society for Neuroscience from 1998 to 2002. She serves on the scientific advisory board of the John Douglas French Foundation for Alzheimer Research. In 2006, Dr. Kennedy was awarded the Ipsen Fondation Prize in Neuronal Plasticity, together with Drs. Eckhart Gundelfinger and Morgan Sheng, recognizing their work on the roles of protein complexes in synaptic plasticity.
