  • Gravitational Waves (Ph237, 2002)
All the materials for this course, including videos of the lectures, problem sets, problem solutions, lists of readings, and copies of many of the readings, are available on the course website, http://elmer.caltech.edu/ph237/, and are also available on DVD from the Caltech library.

  • Applications of Classical Physics (Ph136, 2000-01).
Co-taught with Roger Blandford and David Stevenson.

  • General Relativity (Ph236, 1998-99)

  • Gravitational Waves: Theory (Ph103, 1995)
This was a one-time course designed for people who already knew the fundamentals of general relativity. The lectures are being archived on videotape in the Caltech library, and the library has two volumes of lecture notes, problem sets, problem solutions, and readings for the course.

  • General Relativity (Ph236, 1995-96)

  • The Physics of LIGO (Ph103, 1994)
This was a one-time course on gravitational-wave experiment, organized by Thorne and taught by various Caltech faculty and members of the LIGO team. Two volumes of lecture notes, problem sets, problem solutions, and readings for the course are available from the Caltech library: QC411.P597 (1994) v.1; and QC411.P597 (1994) v.2.
