 In this next experiment I've disconnected our coil (L=0) leaving us with simply a resistor and a capacitor (an RC circuit). Having a capacitor in a system has two effects: 1. It reduces the amount of current 2. It causes a phase shift between the voltage and the current. A phase shift is when the current has its crests at different times than the voltage. That's where the phi came from in the original equations. You can see the phase shift by looking at the difference in time where the two graphs peak, or you can look to see the difference in angle on the lower pair of axes. My question for you is, once the capacitor is introduced, what other factors decide the value of the angle phi? A) Capacitance only. B) Capacitance and resistance only.
