Hi, You ingored several important issues here.
(1) Chicago USTC Alumni Association is an integrated part of the entire
American USTC Alumni Associateion. It is OUR JUDGMENT AND FREEDOM to decide
which issue should be posted on the USTC bulletin, which should not. It is
YOUR freedom to either read the mails, respond to them, or just ignore them.
(2) If you feel you are annoyed by those mails, I am sorry for that but I
can not do anything to help since it was YOURSELF who chose to subscribe to
the USTC list by assuming that you would definitely receive a lot of mails
that you have no interests in, or even hate. The only thing you can do is
to withdraw from the list. You have NO right to command anybody else to
post or not to post something to this list. Isn't this the basic idea of
freedom?
(3) In fact, a lot of USTC alumni in Chicago area are not listed in the
Chicago area list, but they may have subscribed to the nationwide USTC list.
Actually, this is why I, and some other alumni, post some mails pertaining
to local issues (not limited to Chicago issues) to the major USTC list. The
only purpose is to increase their cover range.
(4) An advice, but not a command as you did in your mail, "Limit your rights
in the extent that will not infringe the rights and freedom of anybody else!"
