Research:
My early undergraduate
years were pretty much devoted to studying paleontology, evolutionary
biology and systematics. My junior year, I had a brief one
class fling with biomechanics, fell in love with the research,
and the affair has yet to end. Heh.
I joined the Dickinson Lab in the fall of 2000 as an undergraduate
research assistant to post doc Steven Fry, studying the
kinematics and aerodynamics of free flight saccades in Drosophila.
I have since graduated with a B.A. in Integrative Biology
in December 2001. Currently, I am working in the lab full
time and continuing with the project by studying tethered
flight saccades.
I now love flies. I used to just shoo and swat. Now, I
can't even swat anymore.
