Course books

I've placed some Amazon links below.  Otherwise, the easiest way to make sure you get exactly the same book is to copy and paste the 13-digit ISBN number (as in 978-0140447941).  If you choose to use a site that won't run an ISBN search, search not only the author's surname and title but also the translator's name and the publisher.  You need exactly the right book because translations are very different, you couldn't follow discussions or make proper citations if you had different page numbers, and so on.  This does mean that even if you already have a different Iliad or Werther, you need to get a new one.

The Caltech bookstore has been known to deliver books very late or deliver the wrong books.  Our books are available from them, but using a different vendor would be a very good idea.

(1)  Homer, The Iliad: edition to be announced

(2)  Goethe, J. W. von, The Sorrows of Young Werther, translated by Michael Hulse (Penguin Classics), 978-0140445039 or 978-9992769027
