ABSTRACT: Nike Inc will increase the pay for entry-level
factory workers 22% in Indonesia to about $28/month
from $23/month due to the economic crisis and
criticism of its work practices. The quality of free
meals served to its plant workers will also be
improved. Last spring, the firm boosted wages 15%,
but had been called on by critics to further
increase pay. Nike has been charged with child labor
and forced over-time by human-rights groups.
