Volunteer Experience
2006-2007: I have identified and mentored a rising senior at Environmental
Charter High School (ECHS; Lawndale, CA) with environmental career goals. I coached
him through his college preparation and selection process and advised a summer research
paper.
2005-2006: I worked with ECHS to create a year-long elective class,
Environmental Science and Society, in which Caltech volunteers created and
implemented a curriculum that explored society's response to current environmental
problems.
2004-2005: I founded an outreach program in which Caltech graduate students
spoke about their work to environmental science and biology students at ECHS.
2002-2003: I led about six Yale Outdoors trips to the Stuart B. McKinney
National Wildlife Refuge, Milford, CT to build trails and observation platforms.
