WEST would like to encourage you to check out this great program! It's a truly great and unusual opportunity!

Women Mentoring Women Program

The Women Mentoring Women program matches women postdoctoral scholars with graduate women for a one-on-one mentoring experience. The purpose of the program is to provide support for women graduate students as they negotiate their academic, professional and personal development. Each pair meets over the course of the year on a mutually agreed schedule (monthly or bi-weekly) for a coffee discussion. In addition the program organizes monthly workshops, discussions and networking socials for everyone in the program. Also, program participants receive coffee stipends, books and other resource materials.

Additional Background:
The Women Mentoring Women program began last year as a pilot program and was the brain child of a postdoctoral scholar in the division of Biology Helen McBride. Last year, ten postdoc-graduate student matches from all Caltech divisions were accepted into the program which ran for approximately six months. Because of the great benefit the program had on both the mentees and mentors, the WMW program is coming back this year as one of the new and exciting programs offered by the Caltech Women Center,
