Performances at USC

All Caltech Dance Troupe members are welcome to participate in all dance shows presented by USC (one per quarter). Click here for more information on these performances.


Classes Outside of Caltech

USC, Occidental, and PCC

All Caltech Dance Troupe members are allowed to take dance classes at USC free on a first-come enrollment basis. The current course offerings can be found here.

A number of classes are offered at Occidental College in Eagle Rock, such as classes in modern dance, jazz and tap, and ballet, as well as in choreography, dance production, and Afro-Haitian dance and culture. In the past, Troupe members have performed in shows at Occidental. Information about these classes and shows can be found here. Caltech students can take free courses at Occidental in subjects that are unavailable at Caltech. For more information about taking classes at other institutions for free, contact the Grad Office (x6346).

Pasadena City College (PCC) Dance Department offers courses in many traditions, from ballet, jazz and modern, to flamenco, tap and social dance. A listing of classes can be found here. One unit costs $25 for California residents and $155 for non-residents. To register for classes you must first fill out an application, either online or at their campus.
