Ravi Teja Sukhavasi
Who am I?
I am a graduate student in the Electrical Engineering department at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California. I grew up in Vijayawada, India and graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur) in June 2007, with a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. Funded by an Atwood fellowship, I joined the MS/PhD program at Caltech. I received an M.S in Electrical Engineering in June 2008 and am presently pursuing doctoral studies under the guidance of Prof. Babak Hassibi.
What do I do?
I am currently working on Distributed estimation in wireless sensor networks. In particular, I am developing optimal estimation techniques using quantized measurements. See my Publications for some of the recent work.
What do I do otherwise?
I am a big time cricket and badminton enthusiast. Well, only if naive enthusiasm could translate into skill...but still, I try! I spend most of the remaining time reading or watching movies. If time wins and there is more of it, I play graduate representative for OASIS, a, rather, creative acronym which stands for the Organization of the Associated Students of the Indian Subcontinent! We try to bring together some of our Asian friends to celebrate our festivals and share some light moments through potlucks, movie screenings and various other activities.
