Looking for an opportunity to work on your performance/presentation skills?
Then drop by Ramo Auditorium every Wednesday night from April 6 to May 25 and take part in six performance workshops geared toward all Techers regardless of previous experience. The class is conducted by Director of Theater Arts at Caltech (TACIT) Brian Brophy with special guest artists.

You can audit the class or take it for credit.

6 April 2011 (7:30pm – 10pm): Improvisation/Acting Workshop I
13 April 2011 (7: 30pm – 10pm): Acting Workshop II on Viewpoints and the performance style of Tadashi Suzuki with guest artist Irfana Majumdar.
20 April 2011 (7:30pm – 10pm): Acting Workshop III The Rasa Box: A Psycho-Physical approach to acting. Performing from the outside in.
27 April 2011 (7:30pm – 10pm): Voices of Chornobyl--Baxter Auditorium Voices From Chornobyl is a play that explores the many impact and health implications of the Chornobyl disaster that changed the world and to spread awareness of the initial and ongoing impacts of the disaster, including the long-term mental, environmental, and physical effects of radiation. A post play discussion will be accompanied with snacks and beverages sponsored by E&AS

18 May 2011 (7:30pm – 10pm): Acting Workshop VI Method Acting and the fine art of film acting
25 May 2011 (7:30pm – 10pm): Battle of Algiers (1966) screening (Baxter Auditorium) with special guest artist TBD This last class examines film acting within the coordinates of political change and social structures and its applicability to current events.
