2009 Winter Term:

PA 40 Introduction to Acting

This class is open to all members of the Caltech community and Caltech students can enroll for credit. The focus will be hands-on, practical application of acting theory from Russian director, actor, and theorist Konstantin Stanislavsky (1863-1938) and German director, theorist, playwright Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956). The class will consist of readings, scene-study, monologues, group work, acting exercises, play readings, lectures, and films, to culminate in a public presentation of scenes and monologues at end of term. Instructor: Brian Brophy. Tuesdays, 7:30-10pm, Baxter Lecture Hall.
