Trips
Depending on the availability of volunteers, trips to various surf locations are usually organized once a month.
There are a lot of breaks to visit around Los Angeles, but in the past there have also been overnight camping trips to locations outside the area.

Prerequisites
It all depends on the destination of the trip what kind of skills you need to join. It can be a surfing or windsurfing trip and the break that is visited can be a beginner's break or only suitable for more advanced surfers.
It is always a good idea to join for lessons to improve your skills.
Costs
The costs of trips can vary. It depends on the destination and what is involved in organizing it.
Who can sign up
Signing up for trips is open to all members of Caltech/JPL community and their guests.

Usually carpooling will be arranged for trips.
