Surf equipment
The club has a full compliment of equipment available for rental to club members only. Some of this equipment is designed for beginners and is relatively sturdy, while we also have more advanced and expensive equipment reserved for the pros. Clubmembers are encouraged only to check out equipment that they are are capable of handling! All club equipment is stored in the clubhouse by the Brown Gym. Click here for the renting fees.
Some of the equipment:
- 7', 8' or 9' Foam boards for beginners
- 9' Soft Top Boards for intermediate surfers
- 8' and 9' Polyester and Epoxy boards for expert surfers
- Several shortboards for expert surfers

How to rent equipment
Checking out equipment is simple, but you must follow the club's policies on renting. It is very important that you read all policies first!
Renting fees
Here is a fee schedule for the club equipment. Note that wet suits and roof-rack rentals are free, but can be taken with boards only and there is no wetsuit rental without a board rental.

The club has equipment for beginner, intermediate and advanced (wind)surfers. Members are allowed only to check out equipment that suits theire level of surfing. Please read the policies about renting equipment before checking items out.
Please pay for the boards within 7 days of the rental date. Unpaid balances with the club will be transferred to the Caltech Bursar's office and/or treated as violations of the Honor System. If you are unable to pay for some reason, please contact the Club Treasurer to work out a payment plan (or volunteer at Club events to earn credit!). Other than financial crisis, not paying in a timely fashion is inexcusable. Please pay on time.
