What is the history of SOPS? In 1976 Ted Gates (a student of Dr. Acosta) organized a series of lunchtime seminars given by and for students from the Thomas building. After some time the flyers posted for the seminars started appearing with the banner "Society of Professional Students." Within a year Thomas building sports teams started calling themselves "SOPS." The first SOPS banquet was held in 1977 (organized by Marty Cohen). |
