Fundamental Constants at NIST - A carefully maintained repository of the most accurate values to date of various physical constants. Targeted at the professional scientist. HyperPhysics - A hypertext mini-encyclopedia on undergraduate level physics. PlanetMath - A nice math wiki. The CRC Handbook - A standard handbook of chemistry and physics. Contains chemical and materials properties, physical constants, tables of integrals, astronomical data, and so on. Quantum Algorithm Zoo - A comprehensive list of all known quantum algorithms offering speedup over the fastest known classical algorithms. Compendium of NP-complete Problems - A comprehensive list of NP-complete optimization problems with references to relevant completeness proofs and approximation algorithms. Plouffe's Inverter - A reverse symbolic calculator invented by Simon Plouffe. Enter a real number or sequence of integers and various algorithms will be used to either find it in a database of known constants and sequences or find a formula for it involving known constants. This functionality is also available in recent versions of Maple using the "identify" command. See also Neil Sloane's Catalog of Integer Sequences NewsAmerican Scientist - This has a different flavor than most popular science magazines. Brian Hayes' column "Computing Science" is particularly interesting.Edge - An interesting site run by John Brockman, publishing essays, interviews and discussions by prominent scientists.
