By Car from LAX:
- Exit the airport taking SEPULVEDA SOUTH, following signs toward the 105
East freeway.
- Take *105 EAST* and travel on it until you cross freeway 110, where you have to take *110
NORTH* (the direction is Pasadena, so it shouldn't be hard).
- Travel on 110 North all the way until the freeway ends (you will first pass downtown, then some
tunnels, then a stretch of about 10 miles of fairly windy freeway).
- At the *END of 105* there is a traffic light. Keep STRAIGHT until the second light. At the
second light, take a *RIGHT turn* on California Blvd.
- Travel about a couple of miles, passing several lights. One major intersection you will meet is
Lake Avenue. After that keep straight but raise your alertness. At the following light take a *LEFT
turn* on Wilson Ave. Caltech is now on your right-hand side.
- Pass a stop sign and then proceed for about 200 yds. There will be some parking lots on your
right-hand side. Look for parking there (anywhere goes, as long as there is no name written on the
curb). You are now on campus, more or less at the corner of Wilson and Lura. Follow the map to get
to Baxter Hall, which is building number 77 on the map.
If instead you have to go to the Athenaeum, it is building 61 on the map, at the
corner of CALIFORNIA BLVD. and HILL AVE. So you have to follow the instructions given above almost
till the end, and then rather than turning on Wilson proceed straight on California until you find
the light at Hill, where you take a LEFT. The entrance to the driveway is about 50 mt. up on the
left-hand side. Use the map to see how to walk from the Athenaeum to Baxter (building number
77): it's a five minute walk.
