In January of 1996, I took a photoshop class. I've never been quite the same since...
In October of 1996, I went to LISA in Chicago. Larry, Bevan, Wendy and I went to Gino's East, a restaurant next door to Larry's hotel. It was unique in that writing on the walls (and just about anywhere else) was permitted if not encouraged. While pondering the notion of leaving a REM on the table where I sat, Larry noticed the phrase "LISA REM" on the wall behind us. Those Chicagoans think of everything...
January 1998: My 30th birthday. Several of us went to a Japanese restaurant called Tokyo Wakko. If I look a little odd, it's because the restaurant dressed me up as a samurai, complete with a headpiece that provides an appropos hairstyle. From left to right: Heather, myself, Larry, and Carolyn.
Halloween, 1998: Last year I came as the color purple -- either the movie or the concept; your choice -- but alas I wasn't in the photo I thought I had posed for, which is why you don't see anything here. I wore purple from head to toe: glasses, t-shirt, sweater, socks, shoes (and laces!), unmentionables and, ta da, a very lovely crushed velvet purple skirt. Did I mention I like purple?

A week later, I thought back to the party and lamented that no other themes remained that would allow me to do something like that again. Of course, as soon as I thought that, the idea came to me: Devil with a Blue Dress.

Don't tell anyone, but I never read the book. The idea came from the movie Repossessd, a parody of The Exorcist in which Linda Blair plays a woman possessed as a child <wink wink> who is, many years later, repossessed. As it happens, her character is wearing a blue dress during the obligatory exorcism scene which is made even more amusing by the background music: "Devil with a Blue Dress."

On the right is Adele, who is dressed up as Cassiopeia. Notice the constellation on her dress.

Birthday 1999: Having spent several minutes contemplating the variety of methodologies available for extinguishing the pattern of discrete flames illuminating the confections, I elect to just blow. That's Heather watching me in the background.
February 1999: Several of us went on a hike. Amid the beautiful scenery, you can see three patches of color. The blue one is myself, the black one is Dan and the red one is Joe's backpack.
December 1999: In preparation for replacing a Cisco Catalyst 5000 with a 5509 we moved the 5000 out of the way (hence the spaghetti) and Larry took this photo.
September 2002 - January 2003: My last two classes at APU were a software engineering sequence. This is a picture of the team as it existed the second term: Darren, Erin, Sherry, James, myself and Franz.
