Results from Oct. 26 NAQT HS Tournament
The tournament went without despite last minute team cancelations. Because not enough clocks were brought in, the morning rounds were untimed, but the afternoon saw the upper bracket teams playing with 9 minute halves. Most rounds played at 22 questions a round, except for the first round where there was still sorting going out, but the records may not accurately reflect this fact. It was a fun tournament to be at and to read for, with a large number of top performing teams in attendance. The final match saw the undefeated Rancho Bernardo, who has previously beaten Santa Monica A lose tight match. The top scoring individuals were both the fictitious Sarah Palin and Michael Scott, but the star of the Office overpowered the starlet of the GOP and Michael Scott’s Santa Monica claimed victory over Rancho Bernardo.
