Seeing as you all have an incurable curiosity about the Prufrock goings on, here are some pictures from the July 29th turkey roast we just had. These pix aren't the best in the world, but y'all can deal 'cuz it's a $99 digital camera, so there! Well, here-we-all-go!

This is the pig pit in the backyard, pre-pig or -turkey. The bricks and cinder blocks are used to line the pit and the stones are heated up by a fire which is set early in the day (or the day before). Then, the animal of choice is covered by banana leaves (or the aluminum foil we used), wet burlap sacks, enclosed in chicken wire, another burlap sack, and lowered into the pit with the hot coals and hot stones. You then cover said wrapped animal with sand and dirt. Cook for X hours (~5 for the turkey, more like 10 to 12 for the pig). Naturally, I didn't take any pix of any of this preparation (duh!), but you'll see it for the pig! |
| Tina and Carlo eagerly waiting for the food! |

Our friend George (not his real name, but we like it better!) was naturally very interested in the day's doings. Yes, he always looks posessed. |
| Waiting for the turkey gave us time to hang the requisite Christmas lights for the luau. |
