And Then There Were None is Agatha Christie's ingenious and baffling detective story without a detective. Invited to an isolated house on Soldier Island, England, by an unknown host, ten strangers are stranded by a violent storm. During their first dinner together, a recorded message accuses each of them of a terrible crime. One by one, they begin to die. One of guests must be the killer, but who is it?

And Then There Were None is based on Christie's most famous mystery novel, which Christie said was her most difficult to write. Christie first released the story in May of 1939 as a serial in the Saturday Evening Post, and it quickly became the story that made Agatha Christie (1890-1976) the best-selling novelist of all time. Christie wrote the stage adaptation herself, and it was first staged in London in 1943. The first adaptation for cinema was in 1945, and in 1949 it was Christie's first book adapted for TV.
