Visiting Professor of Science Education, Occidental College
1993 APS Congressional Science Fellow

As of November 1998, the US congress has two physics PhDs among its 435 members.  Today a PhD is not a limitation to a life in a research lab, but another resume credential, that opens unexpected doors.  Many scientists are choosing to parlay their analytical ability into careers in new arenas.  This presentation will explore some of the opportunities available for physicists in the government and political world, and provide information on ways to make the shift from bench scientist to policy wizard.
