Physics Graduate Student Issues Committee

We are a joint committee of faculty and graduate students set up by the Department of Physics at the California Institute of Technology to evaluate issues relevant to the lives of graduate students in our department. Our primary concern is whether our department is adapting to the challenges that our students face in light of the changing job market. Specific issues that we have discussed are: the academic research environment, departmental requirements, the career-job market, and social issues.
Any input or ideas that you have related to these or any other relevant topics would be greatly appreciated. Please mail to one of the committee members listed below.
