Hedge Scheduling System Instructions:
---------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to the ITS Calendar Service: "Henge, the Caltech Day Planner".

You can access your calendar with a web browser, with a separate
client program that runs on your own computer (a "native client"), or
with Microsoft Outlook using the Outlook Connector (or "CTOC").

To access your calendar with a web browser, go to this URL:

http://cdp.caltech.edu/henge

To see the differences between the web client and the native clients,
see this page:

http://cdp.caltech.edu/wclientdetails.html

Downloading Client Programs
---------------------------

You can download the native client and CTOC programs using a web
browser. Go to the URL:

https://www.its.caltech.edu/cdp/software

and log in with your ITS username and password.

Installing Client Programs
--------------------------

If you have downloaded CTOC or the client programs for Windows or
MacOS, simply run the program you downloaded. If you downloaded a
client program for some version of Unix, you will have to gunzip and
untar the compressed tar file, then follow the installation
instructions. Let us know if you need help with this.

Logging In and Getting Started
------------------------------

When you log in, you will use your ITS username and password.

For directions on setting up your client and using the system, take a
look at our training guide:

http://cdp.caltech.edu/documentation/trainingguide.html

For more in-depth information, see the User's Manual:

http://cdp.caltech.edu/corptime-help/manual5.1.pdf

An important aspect of using the program is setting your access
rights, so your co-workers can invite you to meetings and see
appropriate parts of your schedule. For a tutorial on doing this,
please see:

http://cdp.caltech.edu/documentation/access_rights.html

Getting Help
------------

If you need help, first ask any of your co-workers who are using the
system; they may be able to give you pointers on using it. If you are
in a group that is supported by a system administrator who works for
ITS, they should be able to help you as well.

For problems with program installation, or any other problems, contact
the ITS Help Desk at help@caltech.edu, or by calling x4602.
