An Interview with the Pope's spokesman
Note that things in italics are added comments
These are questions from an interview in the June 1994 issue of
_Magazine Epoca_. The interview was with Joaquin Navarro-Valls who
is the spokesman for the Pope and also happens to be a medical doctor.
This is a translation from Spanish, so it may have some rough edges.
- What is
the Pope like?
- Why is Pope John Paul so
appealing, why does he have so much presence on TV? Is this explainable
by the training as an actor he received in his youth?
- What is the
character
of the Pope like?
- Taking cue from Nietzsche, who could only believe in a God who
knew how to dance, does this Pope "know how to dance", is he
cheerful?
- I suppose that at times he also gets
tired...?
- Tell me about the
loneliness
of the Pope
