Common misrepresentations of Church history

It is a common experience for Catholic students to run into various misconceptions and misrepresentations of the Catholic Church's history and teaching. Some of the other pages in the 'Catholic Perspectives' series can be useful background when you are confronted with the "accusation" that "the Catholic church has such-and-such a (barbaric) point of view on ... women... sex... science... freedom of investigation... or whatever"

This page links you to various documents available on the internet that can help you debunk, put in context, or know some of the facts --as opposed to the myths-- about the commonplace accusations directed at the conduct of the Church and her members down through the 2000 years of her existence.

If you are aware of other material (or books) that may be helpful in this regard, please let us know about them so that they can be added here.
