  • Examine the form of the free surface flows resulting from the collision of equal jets at an oblique angle. The instability in the flow takes the form of fluid fishbones [Bush & Hasha, JFM (2004)].

  • When a vertical water jet strikes a circular horizontal impactor, the water is deflected into a horizontal sheet. The circular fluid sheets are marked by an axisymmetry-breaking instability that results in polygonal structures [Buckingham & Bush (2001, Phys. Fluids)].
