About myself
I am an astronomer at the Spitzer Science Center, on the Caltech Campus in Pasadena. Spitzer is a space-based infrared telescope, the last of NASA's series of Great Observatories. Unlike ground-based infrared telescopes (e.g. the IRTF, shown below), Spitzer does not have to see through the Earth's atmosphere, which is opaque to most infrared radiation, and glows very brightly at all infrared wavelengths.
My science interests are in the fields of active galaxies, quasars and the early stages of galaxy evolution. I am the archive scientist for Spitzer, which involves providing scientific input into the design and development of the Spitzer archive. I also work on the IRAC instrument support team on various tasks, mostly related to astrometric and photometric measurements and calibration.
