About me

I am a PIRE postdoctoral scholar in the Graduate Aerospace Laboratories (GALCIT). I am a member of the Computational Solid Mechanics Group directed by Prof. Michael Ortiz.

In May 2009, I obtained my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Tufts University where I worked with Prof.  Misha Kilmer. The dissertation title is "Multilevel Methods for Discrete Ill-Posed Problems: Application to Deblurring" (pdf).

I studied Licenciatura (B.Sc.) in Mathematics at Universidad de Buenos Aires.

My research interests are in the areas of computational and applied mathematics, and in particular in numerical analysis and numerical linear algebra. My current research consists of designing and analyzing numerical methods for problems arising in solid mechanics and materials science. For more details go to Research.

Here is my CV.

News

I will attend NSF PIRE Summer School: New frontiers in multiscale analysis and computing for materials held at IMA during June 21-29, 2012.

Congratulations to SURF alumni!!! They have been accepted in graduate programs. Jane Bae will attend the Institute of Computational and Mathematical Engineering at Stanford. Andre Pradhana will start the PhD program in math at UCLA. Stephanie Tsuei will stay at Caltech as a master student in the control and dynamical systems department.

In March, I accepted a tenure-track position in mathematics at the University of Akron.

From May 20th to June 15th, I will participate in the Hausdorff Trimester Program “Mathematical challenges of materials science and condensed matter physics: From quantum mechanics through statistical mechanics to nonlinear pde” organized by Sergio Conti, Richard James, Stephan Luckhaus, Stefan Müller, Manfred Salmhofer, and Benjamin Schlein. It will take place at the Hausdorff Research Institute for Mathematics (HIM) in Bonn, Germany.

I will give a talk on my research in the AWM Workshop which will be held in conjunction with the 2012 SIAM Annual Meeting, July 9-13, 2012 in Minneapolis, MN.
