Policies

Course grade decomposition:
HW: 35%, Midterm: 15% (take-home, 1 to 1 1/2 hours, open book and notes)
Final: 40% (take home, 3 to 3 1/2 hours, open book and notes)
Class attendance and participation: 10%

Homework Policy:

Collaboration is encouraged. Ideas and answers can be exchanged. Written work cannot be shared. What you turn in should reflect your own understanding. Homework is due at the start of the class on the dute date. Extensions must be obtained from the instructor prior to the due date; otherwise, late homework will be graded at half credit.

Electronic Devices:
Can be used in the classroom only for the purpose of taking notes or with prior approval.

  • Give date turned in if late
  • State what you are doing
  • Define variables
  • Use sketches
  • Carry units through
  • Box answers
  • Use a mechanical pencil and write neatly. Messy homework will be returned ungraded.
