| Abstract:
Heegaard Floer homology is a family of invariants for three and four-manifolds. Normally defined for closed three manifolds, there are two extensions to manifolds with boundary---sutured Floer homology (SFH), and bordered Floer homology (CFD/CFA). Bordered sutured Floer homology (BSD/BSA) is an interpolation between the two invariants, containing them in special cases. It can be used to show the bordered theory contains at least as much information as SFH, and there are at partial results in the other direction. BSD can also be used to better understand the relation between sutured Floer homology and contact topology.
