Robert Grubbs received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Florida, and his Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has received the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship (1974-76), Camille and Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award (1975-78), Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (1975), ACS National Award in Organometallic Chemistry (1988), National Academy of Sciences (1989), Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award (1990), Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences (1994), ACS Award in Polymer Chemistry (Mobil Chemical Company) (1995).
