I am currently a fifth-year graduate student working under the supervision of Danny Calegari. Potential employers are invited to take a look at my curriculum vitae. (pdf, html)

Research

My main research interests lie in the areas of geometric group theory and low-dimensional topology. Recently, I have been studying stable commutator length in braid groups. I have an algorithm for computing stable commutator length in the three-strand braid group and have written a program which implements this algorithm. For more information about my research, see my research statement. (pdf)

Teaching

I am currently teaching Sections 5 and 6 of Math 2a Practical (Differential Equations). My recitations meet on Thursdays from 1:00-1:55 pm and 2:00-2:55 pm in 153 Sloan. My office hours are Sundays from 2:00-4:00 pm in 351 Sloan.

For further information about my teaching, I invite you to view my teaching portfolio.

Miscellaneous

In my (limited) free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, watching sports, and researching my family's genealogy.
