The Apple Store

Ariele and I took the afternoon off and ran the gauntlet of awesome shopping outlets. First, we drove to the Fry's in Burbank to check out music, movies, computers, computer parts...everything electronics. We then came back to Pasadena to peruse The Apple Store. Wow, what a place. I mean, I've been in there before, but it just gets cooler and cooler each time I visit. The beautiful Mac mini has caught my eye, and today was the first time I saw one in person. Gorgeous. I've come to the conclusion that I am going to wait until my birthday (in the middle of July), and if I still want the Mac mini this badly at that point, I'm going to go ahead and buy one. I haven't decided whether I'm going to spruce it up with the faster processor and larger hard drive and/or the super drive, but I'm reasonably convinced I'm going to take the plunge this summer.

After The Apple Store, Ariele and I walked over to Barnes and Noble, perused the vegetarian cookbooks, and bought a couple of magazines (The New Yorker for her, Wired for me). We took the magazines over to the adjacent Starbuck's, had some coffee, and read our magazines for a little while. From there, we went to Best Buy (just because) and then over to Whole Foods. I picked up some tofu-based pastrami and ham for sandwiches (which I have yet to try, but I will report the results). After all the shopping, we came home and had a "vegetable medley" (the name of the recipe) that was prepared in Ariele's slow cooker. Quite good. I am starting to have a little trouble late at night staying satiated, so the next phase of this Lent sarifice will be to try to come up with a decent late night snack to tide me over until the morning. I'm sure I'll figure something out. Until next time.

"I am starting to have a little trouble late at night staying satiated". Interesting, Jeff. What exactly are you trying to say?

What am I trying to say? Exactly what I said in the post. Do you have in mind a particular solution for my troubles?

Just being a jackass, as usual!

But seriously, I'd rate soya mince pretty highly -- though it's a little tricky to make right. But get it right and it's really good. Especially if you're hiking.
