Kimberly M. Papadantonakis is a graduate student in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California. She began her studies at Caltech in September 2002 and is currently a Ph.D. candidate. Her thesis research work focuses on the study of molecular monolayers which spontaneously form on surfaces in highly-ordered structures which possess potential for use in nanometer-scale surface patterning and for the design of novel materials. Her thesis advisor is Professor Nathan S. Lewis, and much of her work is done in the Molecular Materials Research Center which is part of the Beckman Institute at Caltech.
Prior to her arrival at Caltech, Kimberly received her Bachelor of Science degree from The City University of New York John Jay College of Criminal Justice where her major was forensic science. She graduated as class salutatorian from John Jay College in 2002 after completing both of the two tracks offered within the forensic science program: toxicology and criminalistics, or the study of trace evidence analysis. |
