In this talk I will recall the definition of mutually unbiased bases and give an overview of known constructions and open questions. Then I will present a new construction of MUBs with the help of semi-regular relative difference sets in abelian groups and how it relates to the known results. The new construction has been recently found by Chris Godsil and Aidan Roy.
