About Me
I am currently a
Moore Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech. My work focuses on
advanced instrumentation for measurements of the microwave
background and other aspects of particle astrophysics. I completed
my Ph.D. in experimental particle astrophysics at the University of California,
Berkeley in 2008. My thesis
work is on the Cryogenic Dark
Matter Search, an experiment to directly detect the constituents
of the universe's dark matter here on Earth.
I presently reside in Pasadena, California with my lovely wife Heather and an adorable (if slightly difficult) cat. For further details, see the links at left!
Brief Life Story
I grew up in across the street from cows in the small town of Stormville, New York, about 70 miles north of New York City. After attending Carmel Central School District I headed northeast to study Chemistry and Physics at Harvard University. At Harvard I learned a few things and was fortunate enough to meet my future wife, Heather Rose. We both headed across the country to pursue doctorates at Berkeley, and were married in 2005.
In late October 2008 Heather and I relocated to Pasadena, CA. We completed our Ph.D.'s in December of that year.
