King-Fai Li

Hi everybody, I am King-Fai LI. As an international student who has been at Caltech for slightly over a year, I feel lonely and hopeless when I encounter difficulties. Fortunately, my Hong Kong friends here will try their best and offer me assistance. If you experience problems in your transition from Hong Kong to Caltech, please don't hesitate and come to HKSA for help!

My research focuses on the Earth's climate. In recent years, the climate change has been one of the most urgent problems that many scientists devote their whole life to explore, with the hope of getting a better understanding and prediction of Earth's climate at the end of this century. Using state-of-the-art satellite measurements, one of my research goals is to distinguish among the warming effects due to greenhouse gases, clouds and aerosols. Achieving this goal would help build climate models and enhance their predicting power.

In my leisure time, I play basketball in Caltech's old gym, chat with friends and colleagues, and eat out with them at the wonderful restaurants in the Chinese neighborhood next to Pasadena . I also cook, but the dishes are only satisfactory for my own consumption.
