Publishing Files on Ampa by FTP from Windows XP

1. For exposition, the instructions below use the pre-established ITS username, lester.  Substitute your own ITS username wherever it appears in this example.  Send a note to the ITS Lester Lab Help Desk <help@lester-lab.caltech.edu> if you do not have a web directory on the Ampa web server.



2. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer (not Netscape!) to the URL,
   
   
   ftp://ampa.caltech.edu
   
   
3. In the Log On As window which appears, type your ITS username, preceded by "ITS\", and enter your ITS e-mail password. Then click the Log On button.
   
   
   
   
   
   Note:  If the Log On As window doesn't appear, click the Internet Explorer menu item, File, and select Login As
   
   
4. Double-click the Users folder.


5. Drag and drop the documents you want to publish into your named folder to upload these files to the Ampa server.
