The Adam Reid Griffith Music Library
I truly love music. Jazz is my favorite by far, but I certainly don't restrict myself to that genre. In fact, some of the things that I term "jazz" others would put in a different genre, and some others wouldn't even call "music". Outside of rent and food, I would guess that the largest chunk of my disposable income goes to purchasing new CDs. And yes, I do still purchase CDs, rather than downloading my music (legally or otherwise). My reasons are many, but the three primary reasons are that I like having something tangible, I like having liner notes, and I can convert to mp3s easily enough on my own. Having liner notes is particularly important because, at least in the case of jazz, the history of the music is contained in the liner notes. Simply reading the liner notes give you not just a description of the music, but also the history of the artists. I fear that with the rise of digital music, such information could easily be lost.
Below you will find links to lists detailing my collection of CDs, broken down by genre.
jazz • rock • blues, funk, R&B • country, folk, other • classical
And here you will find a list of some of my favorite albums from all genres.
