The Adam Reid Griffith Music Library
Rock. Unlike my jazz listing, this list certainly doesn't cover my total interests in the genre. I really like quite a variety of bands and sub-genres, but I am usually hesitant to purchase rock albums. Most jazz albums, or at least, most good ones, tend to have a handful of excellent tracks, and the rest are simply very good. Rock albums, however, tend to have a handful of excellent tracks, and the rest are complete and utter crap. Rock, it seems, truly calls for a download/purchase-by-the-song approach. Unfortunately, my desire to purchase complete albums competes with my desire to not spend fifteen dollars to purchase five dollars-worth of good music. Anyway, to give you an idea of my tastes, I particularly like Led Zeppelin (could you tell?), and enjoy things like Pink Floyd, Beastie Boys, Rolling Stones, Guns 'n' Roses, Boston, CCR, Cream, The Doors, Rage Against the Machine, Crystal Method, Fatboy Slim, and most things that fall under the heading of "oldies" or "classic rock". I also like some newer stuff from the early to mid 90s, such as Weezer, Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Nirvana, Beck, Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots, etc. I don't actually own stuff by a lot of those artists due primarily to the reasons mentioned above.
