Following the author guidelines for a scientific journal of their choice, E11 students plan, write, revise and finalize either a technical research paper based on their own work or a mini-review article based on the research of others. As they move from background reading to planning to drafting and revising, students receive detailed feedback on their writing from their lecturer, from a faculty mentor, and from in-class peer review sessions, helping them carefully focus their discussion to craft a clear, precise, well-organized article. An introduction to Endnote and a discussion of citation and plagiarism help students understand and tackle scientific authors' responsibilities, and one-on-one meetings with lecturers ensure individualized attention and learning for each student.
