In 2007 [age 5] I started kindergarten. I really like it. I can also ride a bicycle with no training wheels, perform death-defying feats in my gymnastics class, dance ballet, and play real piano pieces (I study with Stacy Wang at A1 Yamaha/Playtime music, just like my big sister). But most of all I like to make things, read stories to my dolls, and to play make-believe games.
In 2009 [age 6] I graduated by audition to the Yamaha Junior Special Advanced Course (piano performance, improvisation and composition). I like it a lot, though sometimes there are rages when pieces do not come out right. My favorite subject is math, especially the special challenge book I get to do when I'm bored in school. When asked how I do problems, including ones I haven't been taught how to do yet like 12x13=? and 48/6=?, I report that I have a yellow TV screen in my head, and colored numbers and shapes fly around and break and rejoin each other. My favorite books so far are Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (all 13 volumes) and Frances Hodgson Burnett's A Little Princess. I disagree with the many people who claim these are not suitable for 6 year-olds. I generally refuse to have anything to do with books other people say are suitable for 6-year olds. The trials of the Snicket's Baudelaires pale in comparision to the terrible adventures that my dolls experience.
