Cranium by Cranium, Inc., 1998
Personal Information
Acquired: Winter 2001
I first played Cranium when my brother received it for Christmas in 1999.
During that winter break, we played several, enjoyable, initial games with
friends and family in Spokane. After arriving at Caltech in 2001 and leaving
most of my games at home, I decided I needed some sort of party game to play
with a large group friends. Thus, I purchased Cranium, and have enjoyed
several games with my non-gaming buddies.
Description:
A reasonably fun party game, Cranium is an amalgam
(not in the mercuric sense)
of several classics, such as Pictionary, Charades, Trivial Pursuit,
and many others.
Players act, draw, hum, sculpt, solve puzzles, and perform various other
tasks to advance along the board. One feature I especially like is that the
turn alternates after each activity, even when a team accomplishes their
task, thus preventing one side from taking several turns in a row and leaving
the other team(s) with little to do.
My Score: 6/10
