Every year Caltech celebrates Latin American culture and heritage through
a series of events during our annual Semana Latina. This year we are
featuring our biennial Art Exhibit, taking place May 5th through the 7th,
celebrating and promoting the Art contributions of Latin American and
Latino artists and art students side by side!

Our goal is to capture and represent all forms of two dimensional and
three dimensional fine art. However, being Caltech, we will have a special
focus on contemporary art in new media, including digital art, interactive
art, and film. In order to represent both the professional and the
up-and-coming, half of the artists will be selected from a professional
category, while the other half from a student category.

The installation will take place on a large open space balcony, and two
closed rooms. Selected artists will be able to display from one to three
work pieces. For those interest, and to encourage you to participate,
artists will be allowed to sell their work.

To participate for selection, send us photographs or printouts of the work
you would like to present electronically or via mail. All artists should
be Latin-American, Latino, or deal with a Latino thematic. For specifics

Here are the important dates to remember:

        Apri 11th: deadline for all entries. All work must have been
                    received electronically or via mail by 11:59pm
                    Sunday April 11th.

        April 14th: selections will be announced. All accepted artists
                    will be contacted both by email and by phone.

        May 4th: participants are shown the exhibition space, and
                    placement will be allocated.

        May 5th: 8am: exhibit space opens for exhibitors to place their work.

        May 5th: 7pm-10pm: opening night and reception
	May 6th: 8am- 7pm: gallery open
        May 7th: 8am- 5pm: gallery open

	May 7th: 5pm- 7pm: exhbit space closes, exhibitors pick up work

set theme and reputation for this exhibit, which we hope to grow into a
strong Latino, Los Angeles, and Caltech tradition.
